  Summer 2008 Preschool Information

District-wide Training Schedule for Preschool

Going for the Goal! is the theme for our 2008-2009 District-wide Preschool Inservice events.  Instructional staff who teach multiple grades/subject areas should attend the event session most relevant to their needs, as guided by the school administrator.  Also, please note that ESE teachers who teach students assessed through traditional methods (Stanford 10 and FCAT) will attend training with regular education teachers.  Only ESE teachers who teach alternately assessed students will attend the ESE training.

  • Pre-registration for this event is important to ensure that inservice credit is awarded and that Social Security Numbers are not needed.  Please pre-register on PDMS for the appropriate inservice event!
  • Teachers should bring pen or pencil, paper, and a highlighter to the training.
  • Parking may be limited at certain locations; please carpool if possible.
  • Please arrive early to allow time for sign in and materials pick up.
  • Sign in will occur twice during the inservice event – once in the morning at arrival and then again at the end of the day prior to leaving.  Inservice credit will be prorated (3 points for morning attendance and 3 points for afternoon attendance = 6 points for the day).  Teachers unable to attend the full day should plan to take appropriate leave.
  • Kindergarten teachers attending the Kindergarten training for the Read Well program will need to bring:

1.      The Whole Class Getting Started Guide

2.      The Small Group Getting Started Guide

3.      The Assessment Manuel (grey)

4.      The Whole Class Teacher Guide 1-6 (orange)

5.      Lap Book 1-3 (What a Wonderful, Wonderful School)

6.      Activity Book 1 (orange)

7.      Read Well Centers Teacher Guide

  • First through Fifth Grade teachers attending the Macmillan/McGraw –Hill training will need to bring the Unit 1 Teachers Edition.
