A Heap of Health and a Full-Serving of Fitness

Lee County School District’s PEP Grant is a comprehensive program that will address the physical, mental and social health of the student.  There is an emphasis on fitness and nutrition education through a partnership with the Florida Dairy Council.

The Goals of the Grant

1.        Increase physical fitness levels of students in the program.

2.        Increase physical activity levels of students outside of the classroom.

3.        Increase the amount and quality of professional development in the areas of health and fitness for physical education, health and other subject area teachers.

4.        Improve student progress toward meeting State standards for physical education.

5.        Increase the number of teachers teaching nutrition in the classroom.
