Mathematics

The Goal of the Division of Mathematics is to coordinate the K - 12 mathematics program through effective leadership and support of district teachers in the areas of curriculum development and alignment, instructional planning, assessment, and research-based best practices.

Lee County Schools Excel at Math Competition

Two Students win full Scholarships!

On Wed Dec. 5^th FGCU hosted their 10^th annual invitational math competitions with a record number of schools and students participating making this the largest mathematics competition in the State of Florida! This year 60 schools and 1300 students from all areas of Florida enjoyed a day of mathematics to showcase their schools academic prowess. The two highlights for the day for Lee County were Alex Garcia from Ft. Myers High taking home the 1^st place trophy out of 229 students in the Calculus division with a perfect score and Joshua Kennedy, an 8^th grader from Cypress Lake Middle crushing the Algebra Two field of 224 students while winning that division. Both of these students, by winning their respective division, were awarded a full four year scholarship to FGCU. Here is a listing of all Lee County winners.
