Aquatic Systems / Mosquito Control Education Programs span over 17 years.   They are a cooperative effort between the Environmental Education Program (EE) of the School District of Lee County and the Lee County Mosquito Control District (LCMCD).    The programs are designed and supervised by EE; the funds for the programs and its two resource teachers are provided by LCMCD.

The programs are conducted collaboratively with classroom teachers.  Programs are designed for grades five, seven and high school chemistry and biology classes, and support Florida's Sunshine State Standards in a variety of areas.  Films, readings, slide programs, discussions, art activities, and lab experiences are utilized to teach the objectives of each day's unit.   Other Aquatic Systems / Mosquito Education Programs include teacher inservice workshops and support for summer programs for students and teachers.
